Steve was able to sell our house in a declining market after a failed attempt with another agent. When our house didn’t sell initially, we were disappointed and worried that we were losing value. We were ready for a larger home, but we had that feeling it wasn’t going to happen.

We sat down with Steve and were shocked with the knowledge and statistics he had which really helped us understand the market we were in. His presentation was very professional. Our previous agent just kept pushing for a price reduction, but we didn’t understand why. Steve was able to present to us a strategy for selling our home in a tough market.

He followed up with us consistently and we really liked his detail oriented approach with all the aspects of our sale. We felt our previous agent just put a sign on the property and hoped for the best. Our experience with Steve couldn’t have been farther from that. We were continually discussing our progress and things we could do to help with buyers first impressions when they viewed our home. He had us watching comparable homes so that we understood how competitive we were in the market place. He showed up early to all showings to make sure the lights were on, toilet seats down, fireplace was on, etc. He even bought a picture and a lamp since one of our bedrooms was quite dark.

We were also disappointed with our previous agent’s knowledge of online search engines. We are big craigslist users and are always looking on mls.ca. Steve posted our listing on craigslist and even added our open houses separately each week. Our open houses were always updated on mls.ca and his webpage. His pictures were taken by a professional and they looked great. Each room was bright and welcoming. Our last agent took his own photos and they were so dark you couldn’t even tell which room you were looking at.

Steve got us a sale in tough market and then helped us negotiate a great deal on our new home. We may not have sold for as much as we could have 6 months ago, but once we got a great deal on our purchase we felt great about the whole thing. Steve kept us positive, but also realistic with what was happening in the market. We’re so happy and grateful we have been able to make our move in this difficult market.

I was very impressed with Steve right from the start. He always came to our meetings very prepared and was well informed on current market trends. For our first meeting, he told us about recent sale prices for condos in our building, and what competition we were up against with sales data on other active listings in our area. Steve’s background in the banking world also really helped since he was able to answer any banking questions we had.
Once we determined a price, Steve took pictures and measurements and our home was listed the next day. Steve held three open houses for us, and was coming back 2 – 3 times a week to show other agents and their clients our home. When listening to him talk to potential clients, he sounded like he would if he were trying to sell his own home. This was great.

Steve also helped us buy our first home. He was very helpful in asking the home owners the right questions. Questions we might not think to ask because we’ve never owned a home. He even met us when the home inspector came to inspect our new home.

Steve was able to sell our condo in three weeks, and we got exactly what we were asking for (the other condo’s for sale in our building took much longer to sell)

As a young couple we were finding it hard to find a proper realtor that would take us seriously, especially owning property on the north shore. We scoped a few open houses and were lucky enough to stumble into one of Steve's showings.
